Andy is a highly experienced investment banker with more than thirty years’ experience in the secured financing market and extensive expertise in securities finance. His deep knowledge covers a broad range of areas, including triparty repo, margin optimisation, securities lending, collateral management and transformation, secured finance trading, and liquidity trading strategies.
Over the course of his career, Andy has served as a Desk Head, Senior Trader, Salesperson, Business Manager, Operations Specialist, and Relationship Manager. He has worked in Operations at Chase Manhattan Bank, as a Repo Trader at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, Head of Credit Repo at West Deutsche Landesbank, Head of Sterling Credit Repo at Barclays Capital, and Head of Client Financing at Morgan Stanley & Co International (London & EMEA), as well as the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce in London. Key clients included investment banks, asset managers, hedge funds, brokers, central banks, system vendors, central securities depositories (‘CSDs‘), and central clearing houses (‘CCPs‘) – many of whom he continues to maintain strong relationships with.
Andy has also contributed to key industry bodies and central banks. He advised the European Central Bank on their European Benchmark Committee, and the Bank of England & International Monetary Fund on market conditions. He has worked with central clearing counterparties, such as London Clearing House (LCH Ltd) on their Product Advisory Group Committee and served as an elected member of the European Repo Collateral Committee. He currently serves on the ERCC Best Practices Committee.
Since stepping away from full-time banking in 2024, Andy has established himself as a consultant (Repowise Ltd.) in the secured financing transaction market. Recent projects include supporting a large asset manager on regulatory reporting remediation, advising a fintech, acting as an introductory agent for a conduit, and delivering training for a major European CSD on practical finance trading matters.
