Andrew Cuomo

Thomas has spent the last 30 years working in senior positions within the banking and investment industry which includes periods at Robert Fleming & Co (now part of JP Morgan), Royal Bank of Canada and Bank Leumi UK. Thomas hopes to use his international experience and mediation expertise to the benefit of the EWI. He also hopes to assist with the proposed EWI accreditation scheme.

The EWI, a not-for-profit organisation, was launched in November 1996 to service and support experts. The Institute acts as a voice for the expert witness community, supporting experts from all professional disciplines and lawyers who use the services of experts. The EWI functions to encourage, train and educate experts and to improve and maintain their standards and status. The EWI actively works with a wide range of professional bodies to achieve this. The objective of the EWI is the support of the proper administration of justice and the early resolution of disputes through fair and unbiased expert evidence.

The Rt Hon Sir Anthony Hooper, the Chairman of the Governors, commented “The Board of Governors of the Expert Witness Institute is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Thomas Walford as a Governor. Thomas‘s immense practical experience as an expert witness and his passionate commitment to the profession of expert witnessing will be an invaluable asset to the Board.
